Belarus and Russia start West-2025 exercises

The exercises will last until September 16 and will be held at training grounds in Belarus and the Russian Federation, Belta reports.

The goal of the exercise is to practice joint actions of Belarusian and Russian troops to ensure the military security of the Union State and readiness to repel possible aggression.

The key aspects of the training that the exercise focuses on are: improving the skills of command and staff in managing troops while repelling aggression, increasing the level of interaction between command and control bodies and field training of military personnel, as well as practicing joint actions to neutralize threats and stabilize the situation on the borders of the Union State.

Zapad-2025 is a planned event, which was preceded by a series of preparatory maneuvers on the territory of both countries.

The exercises on the territory of the Republic of Belarus are held at training grounds located deep in the country or in its eastern regions. Despite this, NATO maintains heightened vigilance due to these exercises.
