China Threatens Countries Over U.S. Agreement

China respects the right of countries to resolve their trade disputes with the U.S., it strongly opposes anyone making deals at the expense of China's interests, Bloomberg reported.

If that happens, Beijing will never accept it and will retaliate harshly. China is ready to strengthen solidarity and coordination with all parties, to stand together and resist unilateral pressure.

The warning came amid countries preparing to negotiate with the United States to reduce or eliminate duties that Donald Trump has imposed (and then temporarily suspended) on some 60 trading partners.

In response, Washington is requiring them to cut trade with China and curb Beijing's manufacturing power to prevent it from circumventing the restrictions.

Trump's economic advisers are considering the idea of urging other countries to impose so-called secondary duties - actually monetary sanctions - on imports from nations that have close ties to China. Also, the US wants partners not to buy back excess Chinese goods.
