However, a second later he stepped onto the lunar surface with his other foot.

And what further reduces the solemnity of the moment - before lowering his foot onto the lunar surface, Armstrong dropped a bag of ship debris onto it. Everyone saw what happened next (almost everyone except for a few "socialist countries") - either live, if they were of conscious age in 1969, or in a recording.

But what is most striking is that what really was a "giant leap for humanity" was later considered by most of humanity to be a falsification, footage filmed on Earth. They even named the director - Stanley Kubrick. (We will not cite the arguments of this side, as well as the counterarguments of those who insist that the flight took place, since this has already been done dozens, if not hundreds of times).

By the way, one of the arguments that the flight did not take place sounds quite reasonable - why, although humanity has achieved impressive technological progress in these half a century, was the Apollo program not repeated? The answer also seems reasonable - firstly, it is very expensive, and secondly, the generation of engineers who carried out the program is no longer alive.
