Black Bag is British intelligence slang meaning that a person has no right to reveal the essence of the case they are working on.

Honestly, in order not to leave the cinema, you have to endure the first half hour of the film, in which a married couple of intelligence officers (Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender, who have finally aged in appearance) invite their intelligence colleagues to dinner - and there at the table (and Fassbender's character also mixes "truth serum" into one of the dishes) they begin to blurt out their secrets and each other's.

Here you start to get tired in advance - like, is all this really going to last an hour and a half (the film, by the way, is unusually short), but then the action moves to the office of an unnamed British intelligence agency, to the streets, etc. The task is to find a traitor in this close company, and you can suspect literally everyone, including your wife, husband, lover or mistress.

And here Soderbergh, together with screenwriter David Capp, develop a brilliant game with the viewer, slipping him riddles, solutions, false moves - and in the end, the viewer is already a typical spy film with all its advantages and disadvantages.

And when the film ends and everything falls into place, those who like to find out "how everything works", be it a car or a plot, should watch it a second time to follow how Soderbergh and the screenwriter masterfully (if you don't count the boring beginning) build a narrative.
