Iran-backed militants prepare to attack U.S. bases

According to U.S. officials, Iranian-backed militants are preparing to attack U.S. bases in Iraq. Sources do not rule out that facilities in Syria may also come under attack, The New York Times reported.

However, so far these groups are refraining from action, and, according to a US official, Iraqi authorities are making significant efforts to convince militants not to resort to attacks.
