NATO does not want a repeat of the failed Minsk agreements and is developing new formats for Ukraine's defense.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that in order to answer the question about the probability of deploying foreign contingents in Ukraine, it is necessary to understand under what conditions a ceasefire and a peace agreement can be reached, RBC-Ukraine reported.

Rutte emphasized that it is these factors that will significantly influence the nature of security guarantees for Ukraine.

He warned against the repetition of a situation like the one that arose after the signing of the Minsk agreements.

"What happened in 2014 with Minsk was not sustainable, lasting and durable. No one wants a repeat of that, so we have to make sure that the agreement between Russia and Ukraine will be long-term," Rutte said.
