Shmygal asks for $120 billion for defense

"More Ukrainian weapons - 50% should be purchased in Ukraine. More foreign companies that are willing to cooperate with Ukraine and work in Ukraine. More deliveries of weapons and non-lethal aid, which can be provided by neutral countries as well. A special focus is on new supplies of effective means of protecting our skies, in particular those capable of shooting down ballistic targets. Additional funding is needed to develop Ukrainian industry, including the production of FPV drones, long-range drones and interceptors," Shmygal said.

He noted Ukraine's readiness to share unique combat experience, technologies and innovations with partners.

"We offer allies to create joint ventures, transfer licenses and open production facilities in partner countries. During the war, such products will be directed to the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, and in the long term will strengthen our partners," Shmygal wrote.

In 2026, Ukraine will need at least $120 billion for defense.

"We are working with other countries to attract half of this amount with the support of allies. Already conducting substantive negotiations with members of the EU and NATO," - said the Minister.
