US President Donald Trump remains deeply involved in negotiations to end the war in Ukraine.
White House press secretary Caroline Levitt, responding to a question about the US, Ukraine, and Russia negotiations in Abu Dhabi on January 23-24, called the meeting historic. According to her, the negotiations in the United Arab Emirates show that Trump is not abandoning the peace process to end the Russian-Ukrainian war, European Truth reports.
"The president remains deeply involved, and of course his advisers, namely Jared Kushner and Special Envoy Whitcoff, are keeping him informed about these talks. They held a multilateral meeting last weekend, which did not receive much coverage but was historic in nature, as the president's team actually brought both sides of this war to the table to bring peace closer. So, the president is not abandoning the peace process," Levitt replied.
Levitt was asked whether Trump plans to hold telephone conversations with the Ukrainian president and the Russian president before the next round of negotiations. She replied that no calls between the leaders are planned at this time.
