Trump says something will happen

“I think we'll work it out. Honestly, I thought the Russian problem would be the easiest one I've dealt with, but it seems to be a little more complicated than the others,” he said.

He added that he is closely monitoring how Zelensky and Putin are behaving now, CBS News reports.

“I'm watching it, I see it, and I'm discussing it with President Putin and President Zelensky. Something will happen, but they're not ready yet. But something will happen. We'll do it,” Trump said.

He added that despite the bloody fighting and Russian strikes on civilians, he would continue to seek a peace agreement.

Trump explained that his approach to many diplomatic negotiations is to bring leaders together in one room and force them to reach an agreement in real time, often under his leadership, and not to reject any opportunity until that happens. He emphasized that this approach requires patience.

When asked if he sometimes has to wait for the situation to resolve itself, Trump replied, “Well, you have to do that.”

“Fortunately, we've had some very good days, and as soon as I get them all in one room, or at least get them to talk to each other, they seem to find a solution. We've saved millions of lives,” he said.
