Trump threatens new invasion

Trump denies that the US is at war with Venezuela. According to him, it is a war against people who are emptying their prisons, releasing their drug addicts and mental hospital patients, and sending them to our country, NBC News reports.

Trump said that Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez, who succeeded the kidnapped Nicolás Maduro, is cooperating with the US government.

He said that a group of high-ranking officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hagseth, Deputy White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, and Vice President Jay D. Vance, will be monitoring the situation in Venezuela.

He threatened renewed military intervention if Rodriguez refuses to cooperate.

“We are ready to do that. In fact, we expected to have to do that,” Trump said.

He ruled out the possibility of new elections in Venezuela within the next 30 days. He noted that first it is necessary to “heal the country.” This process, he estimated, could take less than 18 months, but would require enormous funds, which would subsequently be recouped through oil revenues.
