US President Donald Trump has announced the launch of a new immigration initiative - the "self-deportation" program.
It provides financial assistance and airplane tickets to immigrants who voluntarily agree to leave the territory of the United States, reports Fox Noticias.
According to the president, the goal of the program is to create comfortable conditions for immigrants to voluntarily return home.
"We'll give them a stipend. We'll give them some money and a plane ticket," Trump stated.
Immigrants who leave the country under the program will be able to return to the U.S. in the future if they are “well-behaved” and receive approval from the government.
“We're doing self-deportation, and we're going to make it comfortable for people,” Trump said.
