Ursula von der Leyen and Trump discussed the 19th package of sanctions against Russia

She said she had a productive conversation with Trump about strengthening joint efforts to increase economic pressure on Russia through additional measures.

“The European Commission will soon present the 19th package of sanctions targeting cryptocurrencies, banks, and energy,” she said.

Von der Leyen stressed that Russia's military economy, supported by fossil fuel revenues, is financing the bloodshed in Ukraine.

“To put an end to this, the European Commission will propose accelerating the phase-out of Russian fossil fuel imports,” she added.
