US President Donald Trump has announced that Washington has almost resumed intelligence sharing with Ukraine.

Trump said the US is close to lifting the pause in intelligence sharing with Ukraine, Axios reported.

“We're almost there,” Trump said when asked if he was considering unblocking intelligence transfers to Ukraine.

CIA Director John Ratcliffe said the U.S. stopped the intelligence sharing with Ukraine as an element of pressure on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to cooperate with Trump on peace talks with Russia.

Trump expects positive results from talks between U.S. and Ukrainian delegations scheduled in Saudi Arabia on March 11, particularly to determine whether Ukraine is willing to make material concessions to Russia to end the war.

“I believe we will make significant progress this week,” he said.

A mining agreement that would allow the U.S. access to Ukraine's rare earth resources will be discussed.

“They will sign a mining agreement, however I want them to want peace. They have not demonstrated that to the extent that they should,” Trump said.
