US won two world wars - Trump

"We won two world wars, but we never took credit for it - everyone else does! Allies around the world are celebrating our victory in World War II. The only country not celebrating is the United States of America, and that victory was only achieved because of us," Trump wrote.

"Without the United States, the war would have been won by other countries and the world would be a very different place. Therefore, I am declaring a national holiday in honor of victory in World War I, which was won with the armistice signed on November 11, 1918, and in World War II, which was won on May 8, 1945," he said.

Trump added that the country will not be "shut down" for the two days because America already has too many days off. Instead, Americans will work as they have in the past.

"There are not enough days in the year for holidays and weekends. We were workers then and we are workers now," he summarized.
