“I'm not happy with what Putin is doing. He's killing a lot of people, and I don't know what the hell happened to Putin. I've known him for a long time. Always got along with him, but he's pointing missiles at cities and killing people and I'm not happy with that at all,” he said.

Trump does not understand the reasons behind the current actions of Russia's ruler and called them unacceptable. Trump suggested he might consider economic leverage against Russia, including new tariffs, to incentivize the peace process, Ukrainska Pravda reported.

“We're talking and he's firing missiles at Kiev and other cities,” he said.

Asked about talks with Putin, Trump said he would consider using tariffs against Russia to make progress in peace talks.
