Whitcoff must sell Ukraine to Russia, - Trump

Trump saw nothing unusual in his representative's actions, calling it standard practice and part of the job of a businessman, according to Ukrainska Pravda.

“It's standard practice. He has to sell it to Ukraine. He has to sell Ukraine to Russia. That's what a dealmaker does,” he said.

Trump stressed that an effective negotiation process always involves a certain amount of pressure and persuasion on both sides of the conflict. He personally did not hear the published conversation, but considers such negotiation practices to be normal.

“You have to convince them of that. It's a very standard form of negotiation. I haven't heard that particular audio, but it's a normal negotiating practice. And I imagine he's saying the same thing to Ukraine, because each side has to give and take,” he said.
