Syria refuses to fight Iran

He noted that there have been no official relations with Iran since the start of hostilities, according to Anadolu.

The Syrian leader acknowledged the existing risks to his country but emphasized that the authorities are trying not to provoke hostility with either side. According to him, the situation in the Middle East today is driven not by wisdom, but by anger, emotional reactions, and unpredictable political decisions.

Al-Sharaa added that such dynamics have already drawn a number of states into the war, particularly the Gulf states, which had previously remained on the sidelines. This is precisely why the Syrian government is carefully weighing all its steps to choose the safest path for its citizens and avoid being drawn into hostilities.

"Iran has a problem due to its attempts to produce ballistic missiles and a nuclear bomb, as well as its attempts to influence other countries. We recommend negotiations rather than military force, as this will lead to greater dangers. Unless Syria becomes a direct target for any of the parties, it will remain on the sidelines of any conflict. We’ve had enough of wars. We’ve paid a heavy price. We are not ready for another war. No one is ready to join a war, and we will not participate in it unless we are attacked and unless a diplomatic solution can be found,” he said.
