The war against women's sports is over - Trump

Trump signed an executive order titled "Keep Men Out of Women's Sports" aimed at banning transgender women from participating in girls' and women's sports competitions, the Associated Press reported.

The document gives federal agencies, specifically the Department of Justice and the Department of Education, broad authority to enforce Title IX at educational institutions that receive federal funding.

According to the Trump administration's position, "sex" will be interpreted as gender identity determined at birth.

"With this executive order, the war against women's sports is over," Trump stated.

White House press secretary Carolyn Leavitt said the executive order upholds the promise of Title IX and will require immediate action, including enforcement action, against schools and athletic associations that violate the policy.

The document stipulates that schools that allow transgender athletes to participate in women's events could have their federal funding revoked.
