The war in Ukraine is our war, - Tusk

He stressed that the main task of opinion leaders is to convey a simple truth to the minds and hearts of the Western and transatlantic communities: there is a war going on, and peace is not something that can be guaranteed forever, RMF 24 reports.

“It is not something particularly characteristic of this part of the world. On the contrary. That is why reflections on security, war, peace, and the Western community are so important,” he explained.

Tusk pointed out that in Warsaw, as in many other places, there are often voices saying that this is not our war and we should not be interested in it.

"We must realize that this is our war, because the war in Ukraine is only part of a terrible project that appears from time to time in the world. And the goal of this political project is always the same. How to enslave peoples, how to deprive individuals of their freedom, what to do to ensure the triumph of authoritarianism, despotism, cruelty, and the absence of human rights. If we lose this war, the consequences will affect not only our generation, but also future generations. In Poland, throughout Europe, in the United States, throughout the world," he warned.
