Trump is waiting for an agreement to end the war in Ukraine

“I'm waiting to see if an agreement will be signed,” Trump said.

Asked by a reporter whether the U.S. supports Europe's call for new sanctions, Trump said, "Europe is talking about it, but they haven't done anything yet. We'll see if they do," Suspilne reported.

When asked why the U.S. is not independently imposing sanctions now, he said: “Because I'm waiting to see if there will be an agreement.”

He added that sanctions are costing the U.S. dearly.

"And don't forget, sanctions cost us a lot of money. When I impose sanctions against some country, it costs the US a lot of money, huge amounts of money. It's not just about signing a document. We are talking about billions and billions of dollars. Sanctions are not that simple. It's not a one-way street," Trump said.
