US President Donald Trump has said that a format for a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine that would be acceptable to each side would have to be agreed upon.
Trump has previously said the Kremlin chief would not oppose European peacekeepers in Ukraine as part of a potential ceasefire, European Pravda reported.
The Kremlin has said the format of the mission, which would include military personnel from European countries, is unacceptable to him.
“That's not what I was told,” Trump responded.
He said some form of peace support would be needed in Ukraine.
“Something will be done that will satisfy everyone. That's what I've discussed. A form of peace support that will be acceptable to everyone. In the end we will be able to agree on something, I'm sure,” Trump said.
