US President Donald Trump intends to buy Gaza, but may allow other nations in the Middle East to rebuild parts of the war-torn territory.
Trump has said he seeks to buy and own Gaza, Reuters reported.
“As far as our rebuilding - we can give it to other states in the Middle East to rebuild parts of it, other people can do it under our patronage. But we are committed to owning it, holding it and ensuring that Hamas does not go back,” he said.
He noted that there is no place to go back to.
“This place is to be demolished. The rest will be demolished. Everything will be demolished,” he said.
Trump is open to the possibility of letting some Palestinian refugees into the US, but will consider such requests on a case-by-case basis.
