US cannot finance Ukraine indefinitely, - Rubio

According to Rubio, the US is the only country in the world that can bridge the gap between the two sides, and it is working to do so, Fox News reports.

“Ultimately, it's up to them. If they decide they don't want to end the war, the war will continue. But we will try to end it,” he said.

The US Secretary of State noted that the US cannot finance Ukraine indefinitely, no matter how long the war lasts.

On the other hand, according to Rubio, it is unrealistic for Russia to continue the war for another 4-5 years.

"At one point in this war, Russia controlled much more of Ukraine's territory than it does now. If you look at the map from March-April after the invasion and compare it to the map now, the Ukrainians have pushed the Russians back significantly. They have already achieved a lot because of their bravery, courage, and how selflessly they are fighting," Rubio said.

Now the war has turned into a war of attrition.

“Unfortunately, the Russians are showing a willingness to sacrifice 7,000 soldiers a week for their goals,” he said.
