The US will assess the demands made by Russia after Moscow agreed to a ceasefire in the Black Sea with Ukraine to ensure the safety of shipping.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that after a meeting in Saudi Arabia, the Russians detailed a number of conditions they want to see met in order to do so, Reuters reported.
“So we're going to evaluate that,” he assured.
U.S. officials will work to understand more fully what Russia's position is, or what they're asking for in exchange, and then we'll present that to the president and decide on the next step.
Russia's demands are for the lifting of some EU sanctions.
