In recent days, Trump has been briefed on various plans for military intervention. The options presented focus on neutralizing the Iranian security services that the regime in Iran uses to suppress street protests, CNN reports.

In addition to a direct military strike, the White House is considering alternative methods of pressure. These include cyber operations against Iranian military facilities to disrupt communications between security forces, as well as the introduction of new sanctions against Iran's energy and banking sectors.

The possibility of providing Iranians with uninterrupted communications is being discussed separately. Trump has announced his intention to discuss with billionaire Elon Musk the provision of access to Starlink satellite internet to help protesters bypass state censorship.

There are concerns within the administration about a forceful scenario. Some advisers warn that military strikes could backfire and lead to the population rallying around the flag or provoke a large-scale military response from Tehran. More detailed briefings and discussions on further action involving senior national security officials are scheduled for Tuesday.

“If the US launches military action against Iran or occupied territories, American military and transport centers will be considered legitimate targets. We will not limit ourselves to responding,” said Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf.

When asked how the US would respond if Iran attacked American military bases, Trump said, “We will strike them with a force they have never seen before.”
