Analysts predict how Trump's tariff hike will affect global film distribution

As usual with Trump, all Western forecasts, including economic ones, are made on a "party principle", that is, depending on whether analysts sympathize with the Democrats (and most of them in the media) or the Republicans.

Nevertheless, even opponents of the new tariffs do not yet see them as significant direct negative factors for Hollywood. Here we will immediately add that since Hollywood products provide more than half of the box office revenue in almost all countries of the world, they also contribute to the global film industry as a whole.

The only circumstance that analysts are now talking about with confidence is that if the new tariffs, as their opponents expect, hit the pockets of Americans, then the first thing they will start saving on is entertainment - movie tickets, the price growth of which is even outpacing inflation, and, especially, concert tickets, which are now reaching astronomical prices.

As for cinema, Disney may suffer doubly, since attendance at its theme parks may decrease. Another thing is that this will not necessarily affect the company's financing of its film projects.
