Iran launches missile strike on Israel

The new attack occurred immediately after tensions between Israel and Hezbollah escalated. Early Sunday morning, the Lebanese group attacked targets in the northern areas of the Jewish state, and its army responded with strikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut, Bloomberg reports.

The United States and Iran have made limited progress toward a temporary agreement to end the war.

The IDF reported that the Israeli Air Force conducted interception and destruction operations, intercepting all missiles during the initial waves of attacks. No casualties were reported.

This refers to the interception of two Iranian ballistic missiles during the first attack since the ceasefire was declared on April 8.

US President Donald Trump responded to the incident and called for a refrain from further escalation, stating that both sides had already had their way.

"I'm going to call Bibi now and tell him not to retaliate. They each got what they deserved. Israel struck, and Iran struck. We don't need another one," he said.

The US is close to a final agreement with Iran.

"We are very close to a final agreement with Iran. It will be a good agreement," Trump said.
