Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran is merely a step toward achieving those goals.
“And I want to make it clear: we still have goals to achieve, and we will achieve them either through an agreement or by resuming hostilities. We are ready to return to battle at any moment necessary. Our finger is on the trigger,” he said.
He explained that the ceasefire reached between the US and Iran did not come as a surprise to Israel. According to Netanyahu, his country has achieved tremendous success, and in his view, Israel is now stronger than ever, while Iran is weaker than before. However, Netanyahu continued, Israel still has objectives in Iran, reports The Times of Israel.
Iran entered the negotiations weakened and exhausted.
Tehran agreed to open the Strait of Hormuz without preconditions and dropped its demands for the lifting of sanctions, compensation, and a ceasefire in Lebanon.
