Putin and Xi Jinping called themselves “victors of World War II”

First, a trilateral meeting with Mongolia took place, and then Putin and Xi held bilateral talks, according to Ukrainska Pravda.

Putin recalled World War II, saying that Russia and China were its “main victors.”

“We were always together then and remain together now,” Putin said.

Xi Jinping called Putin an “old friend” and emphasized his willingness to work with Russia to form a more just and rational system of global governance.

“China is ready to cooperate with Russia to support each other's development and rejuvenation, resolutely uphold international justice, and build a fair and rational global governance system,” Xi Jinping said.

After the talks, Gazprom announced the signing of a legally binding agreement with China's CNPC on the construction of the Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline. According to the plan, it will transport 50 billion cubic meters of gas annually from Russia to China via Mongolia.
