The debate over the future of internal combustion engine vehicles amid the need to combat climate change has sparked major debate among EU countries.

According to RMF24 sources, there is an active blocking minority within the EU that opposes the European Commission's plan to ban the sale of new internal combustion engine vehicles from 2035.

This includes Germany, Italy, Poland, and the Czech Republic. These countries insist on the need to relax requirements and give manufacturers more time to transition to electric vehicles and meet EU emissions targets.

France, Spain, and Sweden are actively advocating for a transition to electric vehicles and compliance with climate targets.

Under these circumstances, the European Commission will clearly have to continue negotiations and seek room for compromise.
