Iran has retained 70% of Its missile capabilities

What is most alarming to some senior officials is evidence that Iran has restored operational access to 30 of the 33 missile sites it maintains along the Strait of Hormuz, which could pose a threat to U.S. warships and oil tankers passing through this narrow waterway, reports The New York Times.

Iran has retained about 70% of its mobile launchers and approximately 70% of its pre-war missile stockpile, including ballistic missiles and some cruise missiles. Intelligence estimates that about 90% of underground missile silos and launch sites across the country are partially or fully operational.

Iranian forces can use mobile launchers to move missiles between sites, as well as launch directly from pads within the complexes.

During operations, the U.S. expended significant quantities of precision-guided munitions, including Tomahawk cruise missiles and Patriot interceptor missiles, leading to a substantial depletion of stockpiles. Trump and his advisers have repeatedly denied that U.S. munitions stocks are at dangerously low levels. In private conversations, Pentagon officials have also offered similar assurances to European allies, who have purchased billions of dollars’ worth of munitions for Ukraine and are concerned about potential delivery delays.

Approximately 1,100 long-range cruise missiles and more than 1,000 Tomahawk missiles were used, which significantly exceeds the Pentagon’s annual production capacity. It could take years to replenish these stocks.
