Putin is in agony, he doesn't look good - Trump

“He should make a deal. I think he's destroying Russia by not making a deal,” he said.

Trump noted that the continuation of the conflict is causing significant damage to Russia. He emphasized economic problems, particularly inflation, which is approaching 10 percent, CNN reported.

“I think Russia is going to be in big trouble. Look at their economy. Look at their inflation,” he said.

Trump said he plans to meet with Putin to discuss ways to end the conflict, noting that details of the meeting are still being finalized.

“It could be very soon. The war between Ukraine and Russia was never supposed to start. He can't be thrilled. Things are not going well for him. I mean, he's in agony, he doesn't look good. I think he would be very happy to end this war,” he added.

Trump said President Vladimir Zelensky told him he wanted to make an agreement, provided it leads to a sustainable end to the war that would be acceptable to Ukraine.

“Zelensky wants to make an agreement. I don't know if Putin wants to. Probably he doesn't. I don't know,” he said.
