Sabotage on the railway in Poland

“Unfortunately, the worst assumptions have been confirmed. An act of sabotage took place on the Warsaw-Lublin route (in the village of Mika). An explosive device destroyed the railway tracks. The authorities and the prosecutor's office are working at the scene. Damage was also found on the same route, closer to Lublin,” Tusk said.

He added that this was an unprecedented act of sabotage against the security of Poland and its citizens and that the authorities would make every effort to apprehend the perpetrators.

The line where the explosion occurred leads to the border with Ukraine.

“Services and prosecutors are continuing their work in the village of Mika. Unfortunately, there is no doubt that we are dealing with an act of sabotage. Another section of this strategic railway line, where damage to the tracks occurred, is also being investigated,” said Interior Minister Marcin Krawczyk.
