The US has issued an energy ultimatum to the EU

Trade in Russian energy resources is financing Putin's “war machine,” according to The Financial Times.

“If Europeans draw a clear line and say, ‘We will no longer buy Russian gas and oil,’ will that have a positive effect on the US to act more aggressively on sanctions? Absolutely,” said US Energy Secretary Chris Wright.

He added that EU countries should instead purchase American liquefied natural gas (LNG), gasoline, and other energy resources under the US-EU trade agreement, which provides for the purchase of $750 billion worth of energy resources by the end of 2028.

Wright will meet with European Commissioner for Energy Dan Jorgensen to discuss the EU's plans to abandon Russian energy and purchase $250 billion worth of American resources per year.
