Timeline for the conclusion of a peace agreement has been named in the United States

“We will try to reach peace for as long as it takes. That doesn't mean I can guarantee you that an agreement will be concluded in a week or a month. I just can't set a time frame because it's not up to us. It depends on the Russians and it depends on the Ukrainians. It also depends on our partners in Europe, who have sanctions that I think have to be factored into any final agreement,” US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said.

He stated that the readiness for this agreement will be known when the time comes to sign if there is resistance from one side or the other, but we are not at that stage yet, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

Rubio expressed his belief that more progress needs to be made on a technical level at the current stage.

“I want to sit down and talk to our team when they get back from Saudi Arabia and get a better understanding of how these talks went. By the way, we've met with the Ukrainians twice more, so we want to get that perspective that we met with them on Sunday and again on Tuesday, and with the Russians on Monday. So I need to hear a little bit more from them about how it went, and then we'll present that to the president and then decide on the next steps,” Rubio said.
