Trump called for a 30-day ceasefire

“The US is demanding, ideally, a 30-day unconditional ceasefire. Hopefully, an acceptable ceasefire will be honored and both countries will be held accountable to uphold the sanctity of these direct negotiations. If the ceasefire is not honored, the U.S. and its partners will impose additional sanctions,” he said.

Trump reminded that thousands of young soldiers die every week and everyone should want it to stop.

As president, he remains committed to making peace between Russia and Ukraine with the Europeans, and it will be a lasting peace.

“This ceasefire should eventually lead to a peace agreement. All this can be done very quickly and I will be available at any time if my services are needed,” he said.
