Trump decides to punish countries supplying oil to Cuba

"The Cuban government continues to pose a threat to the national security of the United States. We will not allow foreign countries to prop up this regime by providing it with vital energy resources. From now on, any country supplying oil to Havana will face economic consequences in the form of tariffs on its goods entering the United States," the White House announced.

The new measures are aimed at further isolating Cuba. Trump instructed the relevant agencies, specifically the Department of Commerce and the Department of the Treasury, to develop a mechanism for identifying violators and determining the tariff rates.

These restrictions will apply to all countries, without exception, that continue energy cooperation with Cuba.
