Ukraine will receive $800 million over two years

Trump signed the document, titled S. 1071, “National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026,” on December 18. It has already come into force, according to the White House.

The law regulates the financing of programs of the Department of Defense, military construction, and national security programs coordinated by the Department of Energy and the State Department.

It covers measures to improve the welfare of military personnel and defines new powers to implement changes in the areas of national and international security, trade, and the judicial system.

As for Ukraine, the document provides for $800 million — $400 million in 2026 and 2027 — as part of the Security Assistance Initiative, which provides for the purchase of American weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
