U.S. airport to be renamed in honor of Trump

The decision to rename the airport followed last year’s approval of a plan to allocate land in downtown Miami for the construction of the Trump Presidential Library, Reuters reports.

To complete the renaming process, an official request must be submitted to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The agency must update various flight chart and navigation databases, after which the signs at the facility itself will be replaced.

U.S. Representative Brian Mast has already introduced a proposal to change the airport’s three-letter code from PBI to DJT, which corresponds to the initials of Donald John Trump.

Plans are in place to name a new class of U.S. Navy warships, a visa program for wealthy foreigners, and a government website for the sale of prescription drugs after Trump.

The U.S. Department of the Treasury has confirmed that Trump’s signature will appear on paper banknotes starting this summer. This is the first time in the country’s history that a sitting president has signed U.S. currency.

The Federal Arts Commission has approved the issuance of a commemorative gold coin featuring the politician to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States.
