US will support any mechanism for peace in Ukraine - Rubio

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the main focus these days is on what happens for a peaceful settlement in Ukraine, European Truth reported.

“We'll see what happens in that regard over the next few days, but we want to see progress in that direction, and any mechanism that's proposed, any process that needs to be implemented - we stand ready to be constructive and help in whatever way we can to bring an end to the conflict,” he said.

He added that there is no military solution to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

"This war will end not militarily, but diplomatically. And the sooner an agreement to end the war is reached, the fewer people will die and the less destruction there will be. And ultimately that is the president's goal," Rubio said.
