USA continues to punish those who help Iran supply oil to China

The Treasury Department noted that the new sanctions imposed by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) target individuals and entities that have helped Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps sell and ship Iranian oil to China through a network of front companies, Reuters reports.

“The Treasury Department will continue to cut off the Iranian regime from the financial networks it uses to carry out terrorist acts and destabilize the global economy,” emphasized U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

The three sanctioned individuals work in the IRGC’s oil headquarters and coordinate payments through the Turkish company Golden Globe. Hundreds of millions of dollars from oil sales pass through this firm, which has been subject to restrictions since 2025, every year.

The U.S. State Department announced a reward of up to $15 million for information that helps undermine the financial mechanisms of the IRGC and its affiliates.

The new list of front companies includes four Hong Kong firms that organized the sale and purchase of millions of barrels of Iranian oil.

Four companies from the UAE that facilitated the delivery of crude oil via “shadow fleet” tankers were sanctioned, as well as another firm registered in Oman. It was involved in chartering vessels to transport shipments of Iranian oil.
