“These negotiations have been very successful and are moving quickly,” Trump said, adding that technical teams will meet again on Monday in Egypt to work out and finalize the details.

“I have been told that the first phase should be completed this week, and I am asking everyone to move quickly,” he said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said over the weekend that he hopes the hostages will be released during the Sukkot holiday, which begins on Monday evening and lasts for a week, followed immediately by the October 7 anniversary of Hamas' attack on Israel.

Simchat Torah, which marks the anniversary of the Hamas attack on October 7 according to the Jewish calendar.

"I continue to follow this centuries-old conflict. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE, OTHERWISE THERE WILL BE MASSIVE BLOODSHED — SOMETHING NO ONE WANTS TO SEE!" he said.
