Trump confident that India will almost completely stop buying Russian oil

“As you know, India has told me that it will stop buying it. It's a long process, you can't just stop, but by the end of the year they will almost completely stop,” Trump said.

He spoke with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

Trump stressed that the situation with China's purchase of Russian oil is different because Beijing has a very close relationship with Moscow. According to Trump, former US presidents Barack Obama and Joseph Biden are to blame for this.

He noted that he would discuss oil and other issues with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

“What I will really talk to him about is how we can end the war between Russia and Ukraine, whether it's because of oil, energy, or something else,” Trump concluded.
