Trump promises to find and punish everyone involved in Kirk's murder

Trump is filled with grief and anger over the horrific murder of Charlie Kirk on a college campus in Utah, CNN reports.

“Charlie inspired millions, and tonight, all who knew and loved him are united in shock and horror,” he said.

Trump spoke of his close ties to Kirk, who became a close political ally and personal friend of the Trump family.

“This is a dark moment for America,” the president added, describing the efforts of the activist, who traveled across the country and engaged in conscientious debate.

Trump noted that Kirk had become a martyr for truth and freedom and called for prayers for the victim's family.

The president linked the activist's death to his own injury during the shooting in Butler in July 2024, as well as other high-profile cases of violence.

He recalled the shooting of a United Healthcare executive in New York in December and the 2017 assassination attempt on House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, highlighting the political violence of the radical left.

The president said Americans and the media should recognize that violence and murder are the tragic consequence of demonizing those with whom you disagree.

Trump promised further action, announcing a broader plan to combat political violence.

“My administration will find everyone involved in this crime and other cases of political violence, including the organizations that finance and support it, as well as those who persecute our judges, law enforcement officers, and everyone else who keeps order in our country,” he said.
