US President Donald Trump has called on Israel to immediately cancel the trial against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu or immediately pardon him.
Trump accused Israeli justice of persecuting Netanyahu and called the case against him a "witch hunt."
Trump wrote that "the U.S. will save Bibi Netanyahu," noting that America will once again come to Netanyahu's defense, as it once did for Israel itself.
He said Netanyahu was a great military leader who he said played a key role in defending Israel, including during the standoff with Iran.
According to Trump, the trial against him has no merit and should be canceled or replaced with a presidential pardon.
