Peace plan
US President Donald Trump expressed some optimism about the talks between US and Ukrainian representatives that took place on Sunday in Florida.
Trump noted that there is a good chance of reaching an agreement to end Russia's war in Ukraine, CNN reports.
According to Trump, the talks are continuing and progressing well. We want to stop the killing of people.
He said he spoke with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steve Whitcoff after their talks with Ukrainian officials on Sunday.
“I spoke with them, and they are working well. Ukraine has some difficult problems, but I think Russia would like to see this end,” Trump said.
Trump pointed to the situation with corruption, which does not contribute to solving the problem.
“I think there is a good chance that we will be able to reach an agreement,” he said.
Trump noted that he does not yet have a deadline for completing the negotiations.
