Trump still believes Putin

Trump admitted that the Kremlin master can manipulate him regarding peace talks, ABC News reported.

He added that he believes Putin wants to stop the war.

“I think if I hadn't won the election, he would have taken over all of Ukraine. I think he would have taken over all of Ukraine. He saw what happened in Afghanistan. He said: “Wow, this is my chance,” because that was always the pupil of his eye. I was talking to him. I think he wanted the whole country,” Trump said.

Asked if Putin wants peace, the American president said, “I think so. I think eh. I think really his dream was to take over the whole country. I think because of me, he won't be able to do that.”

When asked if he trusts the Russian ruler, Trump was evasive.

“I don't trust you. I don't trust a lot of people, but I think this: I think he, let's say, respects me, and I believe that because of me he will not take over the whole country, but his decision, his choice will be to take over the whole of Ukraine,” Trump said.
