Trump's approval rating has set a new record

An Economist/YouGov poll released this past weekend found that 55% are dissatisfied with Trump's presidency, while 41% of respondents approve of it, The Hill reported.

Last week and the week before, those numbers were 53% and 42%, respectively.

At the beginning of Trump's cadence, 49% approved of him and 43% disapproved.

The gradual drop in approval is mostly due to a drop in the minimal support Democrats had and so-called independents.

Among Republicans, attitudes toward the president are virtually unchanged: at the beginning of the cadence, 94% approved of his presidency; now 92% approve.

The Economist/YouGov poll divided into separate groups radical MAGA Trumpists and those Republicans who do not identify themselves as MAGA. Representatives of each group make up half of the Republicans surveyed.

Among those who identify themselves as MAGA Trumpists, Trump's approval holds steady at 98%.

Among the group of Republicans who do not identify themselves as MAGA, 90% viewed Trump favorably at the beginning of his cadence; as of April, it was already 70%. That figure rose again to 85% in the latest poll.

The total sample of respondents in the latest survey has 1680 people, the possible margin of error is 3.4%.
