Ukraine to receive $400 million in aid

Despite widespread opposition from Republicans to providing military aid to Ukraine, the defense policy bill allocates $400 million to the Pentagon's initiative to provide security assistance to Ukraine.

The House of Representatives rejected a proposal by Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican from Georgia, to cut funding for Ukraine, with both Republicans and Democrats voting against it.

Lawmakers added a requirement for the Pentagon to report to Congress if the administration plans to cancel or suspend military aid to Ukraine that has been approved by Congress.
