U.S. has intercepted 38 vessels linked to Iran

“The U.S. Navy continues to enforce the blockade of Iranian ports, preventing ships from entering or leaving. U.S. forces ordered 38 ships to turn back or return to port,” the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported.

On Saturday in the Arabian Sea, a U.S. Navy helicopter that took off from the guided-missile destroyer USS Pinckney intercepted the merchant ship Sevan, which is subject to U.S. sanctions.

On the orders of the U.S. military, it was directed back to Iran.

Last week, two sanctioned oil tankers from Iran’s “shadow fleet”—the Majestic X and the Tifani—were seized in the Indian Ocean by forces of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM).
